About the Author

Welcome to my blog!

This blog is built for me to share my passion of writing and sharing the Word of God with those who will stop for a few seconds and read. I am not a pastor (though I have given it great thought and have even stepped in and performed the duties from time to time). I am not a theologian or have a Masters in Divinity. I am merely a servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I love to share my thoughts and understandings of the bible. My only hope is that the messages I share will touch the reader in some way and motivate them to do more to lift up the Kingdom of God and transform the suffering in the world into joyful celebration.

I am a published author and the founder of Cross Point Publishing. My mission with Cross Point is to “Open New Roads to Life” for aspiring writers out there. “Life” refers to Jesus and the “New Roads” are open for the interpretation of the author. Some authors choose to publish books based on their sermon series. Others publish books that are part of a successful ministry they run. Some like to write about the passion that God has placed on their heart for causes such as abortion, adoption, prayer, the poor and the list can go on. For each writer, that “Road” can look different. We at Cross Point wish to help the writer build and share that “Road” with the world.

Blogging Topics

I have four subjects that I like to blog on. They are Christian Conversations, Technology Today, Inspiring Books and Writing/Publishing. Here is a quick overview of them:

Christian Conversation:

On this blog I like to give my personal reflection on what is taking place in the Church world. I also like to talk about what God is saying to me when I read His Word and meditate on Him. When I focus on a Christian message, it is often used to begin a conversation and ignite the passion of others to help create ministries to fill these opportunities that I discuss. That is one area I enjoy blogging about.

Technology Today:

I love technology. From time to time I will post in this category and tell you about my thoughts on what new gadgets, apps and programs that I find are helpful in being a productive writer and publisher as well as tech that I just find plain ol’ enjoyable.

Inspiring Reads

Good writers are avid readers. I love to read books and typically I am reading anywhere from 3 to 5 books at any given time (this includes the bible). When I read something inspiring or helpful, I will share it in this category. I will also review books for people who are self-publishing. So if you are a self-publisher and are looking for someone to read your work… look no further!

Writing and Publishing:

I also like to blog on the topic of writing and publishing. As a published author myself, I like to share insight into the writing process to help others along the way. I also like to look at the publishing aspect of the industry. I started out as a self-publisher and thanks to technology today, there is no reason anyone who desires to be published – can’t be.

I typically post two to three times a week. To make sure you don’t miss any of my blogs, take the time to subscribe to my blog via RSS or email. The email registration is in the box on the top right hand side of this page. If you subscribe by email, I will send you a free eBook for taking the time to sign up.

My Biography

So, how about a little information on me.

As I stated before, I am a published author and the founder of Cross Point Publishing. I served for six years in the Army National Guard and found myself missing the teamwork and community that is built within those confines. Perhaps it was that longing for mission that God used to lead me back to the church. I have served in the church as a Youth Ministry Leader, as a Lay-Minister and am currently serving as a Facilities Director. I have had a number of opportunities to preach and can never turn down an offer to speak and share my faith. I love sharing the Gospel with others. I serve on a rotation of pastors who preach at a local nursing home. Sharing the joy of the Lord with these people is such a humbling and joyful experience. I especially enjoy finding new ways to help raise up the next generation of church leaders by creating books and other ministry resources geared towards children/youth ministry, the future of Christianity.

I am married to a wonderful woman who truly completes me. Her guidance and support are the keys to my success. We have two awesome children who keep us busy and running at full speed. I enjoy spending time with the family and watching my kids grow up. I find it really satisfying to share their moments as they play organized sports (being a sports fan myself). I love baseball, football, golf, the outdoors, reading, writing and just sitting back and watching a great movie or a fun reality show such as “Deadliest Catch”

I encourage you to follow me and my company on Facebook and Twitter. You can also add comments on this site and I will respond.

A personal disclosure that I like to share is this

I am not a pastor. I am not a theologian or have memorized every line of the bible in Greek, Hebrew and in the King James dialect. I just love reading the Word of God and sharing my thoughts and opioions of scripture with others. Do not be offended. Add your comments. Challenge me if you disagree. We can have great conversations without adding negative tension.

I am also not the definitive expert in writing, publishing and so forth. I live by the “Do or do not… There is no Try” method. I do it and if it works, I share it. If it fails, I share that also. My results may not be your own.

The opinions I share in this blog do not necessarily represent the opinions of our authors, employees and associates. These are my thoughts only. I make no representations as to accuracy, completeness, currentness, suitability, or validity of any information on this blog and will not be liable for any errors, omissions, or delays in this information or any losses, injuries, or damages arising from its use.

That should take care of the legal jargon.

  1. Nice website. Favor. Check your spelling. Typos will detract from your impact to the marketplace. For example, you misspell the word “interpretation” in paragraph 2. Peace.

  2. I am an unemployed editor. 🙂
